NIL SP Services and Solutions Bootcamp v1.0
The NIL SP Services and Solutions Bootcamp (NIL_SPboot) focuses on capabilities of modern service provider networks to support advanced services and managed services for residential and business customers. The course provides an overview of the SP core and edge networks, the technologies used, and then proceeds to the services that can be offered. In addition it describes guidelines and non-technical implementation information to sell, implement and support the following services using the service provider network:
- Service provider building blocks and technologies (architecture, Layer 2 technologies)
- Internet access as a service for residential and business markets
- Layer 3 MPLS VPN service
- Layer 2 MPLS VPN service (point-to-point EoMPLS and VPLS)
- Managed customer network services (that is, Layer 3 MPLS VPN with managed switches and routers, managed centralized or distributed firewalling, centralized network services [DNS, DHCP], managed remote access, etc.)
- Centralized IP Telephony service (managed or self-managed)
- IP TV service (multicast and unicast [video on demand])
- IPv6 support
- Multihomed customers
- Server hosting in service provider Data Center
- Fixed Mobile Convergence
The course discusses platforms, physical connectivity, capacity, quality of service, performance, reliability, and security for service provider core and customer networks.
