MPLS Traffic Engineering v2.0
This lab bundle contains exercises that cover all the aspects of the MPLS Traffic Engineering. Particularly, the lab exercises address the following:
- Configuration of simple dynamic MPLS traffic engineering tunnels in a Service Provider network
- Configuration of explicit MPLS TE routes with dynamic fallback option
- Configuration of affinity bits to influence dynamic path selection
- Configuration of backup MPLS TE tunnels
- Configuration of equal load balancing
Content
This set of lab exercises contains the following exercises:
- Configuring MPLS Traffic Engineering in MPLS VPN Environment
- MPLS TE Influencing Path Selection
- Engineering Traffic with MPLS TE Tunnels
Objectives
Upon finishing this set of exercises, you will be able to:
Configure MPLS TE support on a Cisco IOS router
Importance
This set of exercises is mandatory for students deploying MPLS Traffic Engineering in large networks, particularly in environments supporting MPLS Virtual Private Networks and are highly recommended to students deploying advanced MPLS Traffic Engineering options in their networks
Target Audience
The lab bundle is targeted at system and support engineers with IP routing knowledge and MPLS knowledge who are preparing to deploy, implement and maintain traffic engineering in large networks particularly in environments supporting MPLS Virtual Private Networks.
Prerequisite Knowledge
To successfully complete this exercise, you need in-depth knowledge of MPLS and MPLS Traffic Engineering as well as basic knowledge of MPLS VPN technology. You also need skills in configuring and troubleshooting MPLS and MPLS TE on Cisco IOS. This knowledge is best gained by attending the following courses:
