Marko Kariž is a data center and virtualization expert, with more than 10 years of experience in data center and information systems design and implementation. Prior to being appointed to the position of IT Manager, he worked in NIL’s support department, engaging mainly in IP telephony projects. From there he joined the IT team in 2004. He was among the first in Slovenia to work with virtualization technologies and he has a proven track record of successful implementations for NIL’s clients worldwide.
In 2015 he took over the management of NIL’s IT department, the main task of which, in his opinion, is efficient support of NIL’s internal business processes and helping employees to do their jobs better. Additionally, the department is also a testing field for new technologies that we typically implement in our internal environment before offering them to the market. One of his main tasks is therefore also monitoring trends in IT and collaborating with the R&D department.
His colleagues appreciate his great insight into information technology and his expertise, while he himself emphasizes the importance of mentorship, knowledge transfer among team members and friendly working environments.
