Peter joined NIL in 2016, bringing with him over 15 years of experience in management and IT project management in finance, health care and technology verticals. During his career, he acted in various roles spanning from project manager, project director, director of strategic operations, chief operations officer, and IT consultant. He worked extensively on EU research and development projects, processes of digital transformation and management of international teams.

Under his leadership of project management office, NIL successfully consolidated and upgraded the project lead processes. Based on this track record, Peter was appointed to the position of Chief Operating Officer (COO) in 2018. In this role, he ensures NIL operates in the way it is directed in the corporate strategy and that the work processes at NIL run smoothly: all with one key goal in mind – the highest possible customer satisfaction. The result thereof is projects that our clients and NIL are proud of. Next to organizational efficiency, Peter is also responsible for the overall work atmosphere in the company, risk management and strategic advising to the management board. In addition, Peter also oversees the strategic development and funding project.

Peter has been working with both traditional and agile project management methodologies, and he relies on his rich practical experience when selecting the best combination for a specific project. By developing and implementing new business management models, he aims to raise the processes to an even higher level, resulting in operations and execution excellence that delivers real business value to internal teams and our clients.

Peter holds a bachelor’s degree in economics and a master’s degree in informatics management. He is a member of the Project Management Institute (PMI) of Slovenia where he serves as the Director of Professional Development, and Liaison at the PMIef organization, where he is active as a mentor and program leader. Peter is married; his wife Vesna works as a head nurse for ophthalmology in a hospital. They have three children and in free time they enjoy family time and taking care of their vineyard and olive garden.
